High pressure wash

Thorough pretreatment is key to achieving a high‑quality finish

The high pressure wash for the treated parts is usually performed manually prior to any pretreatments.  Some parts and painting systems require a high pressure wash to ensure sufficient adhesion. In addition to a water wash, an alkaline detergent or different phosphating agents may be used as active ingredients.

It is recommended that items requiring a blast clean (aluminium, steel grit, or sand as cleaning agent) should be prewashed before the high pressure wash is performed. This applies in particular to closed processes to prevent grease and dirt mixing in with recyclable blowing agents. De-greasing prior high pressure wash ensures a successful surface treatment process and is a requirement in several different standards and painting systems.
