Welcome to this autumn’s issue of For Surface Protection.

In this issue, we continue to discuss our recent projects and customer cases. We also introduce some of FSP’s units. It is wonderful to have a variety of cooperation with many kinds of customers and to impact things that affect the lives of many people – were it the Tampere Tramway or a harbour on the other side of the world.

In the opening article of this issue, our Development Manager discusses how digitalization could be utilized in the surface treatment industry, in everything from routine work at a paint shop to developing the industry and creating new business. There are lots of possibilities but very little tried and tested solutions. We therefore invite the entire industry to hold open and active dialogue on the possibilities of digitalization. Read the article and tell us what kinds of thoughts or even new ideas it provoked. Don’t hesitate to contact us!

Many of you already know that FSP got a new CEO this summer. After nearly 20 years, Pentti Virtanen decided to resign as CEO and focus on working in FSP’s Board. He will continue his services as Vice Chairman of the Board, and I began my duties as CEO on July 1st. My interview can be found behind this link.

We would be happy to hear your thoughts on our communications. We want to act in a customer-driven and open way, also in our marketing communications. You can read more in the interview of our Sales and Marketing Director behind this link.

Let us be in touch. And I hope to meet you at the Alihankinta 2019 Subcontracting Trade Fair!

Helpfully yours,

Jarno Huttunen
CEO, FSP Steel Painting Oy
